Hello! My name is Edie Uchida. I’m a Licensed Acupuncturist and herbalist specializing in infertility and women’s OB/GYN. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my website! What you’ll find here is a brief overview of what I do everyday in my clinic to help women get pregnant, stay pregnant and carry their babies to term. Some of the most common questions I get asked by new patients are “How can acupuncture help fertility?”, and “How can it really make a difference in what I’m already doing on my own to get pregnant, or with the help of my fertility doctor?” Here’s what I say to them, “Acupuncture can help infertility in a significant way, especially when used in conjunction with Chinese herbal medicine.”

Acupuncture works by unblocking the meridians, or organ channels in the body. This allows for greater blood flow to all the organs, including the reproductive organs. As the organs get healthier and stronger they begin to function at higher capacity levels. This is what accounts for the anti-aging effect, or the health and vitality people often feel after a series of acupuncture treatments. Basically, when I’m hired as a fertility acupuncturist, it becomes my job to help a woman’s thirty or forty something year old body behave more like it’s in its twenties, when fertility was at its peak.

I received my Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ICAOM) in Honolulu, Hawaii. I am nationally certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs by NCCAOM, the only national certifying organization for qualified practitioners of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I stay current with the most advanced therapies in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and have completed advanced studies in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Infertility. I have served on the Board of Friends of ICAOM and on the Board of Directors of HOMAA (Hawaii Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture Association) as Vice-President.  I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine working along side my husband Jason Uchida, N.D., in Honolulu, Hawaii.
